Opting Out

Under the No Child Left Behind Act schools must give your personal information to the military. It is possible to opt out, however, of having your information given to the military. If you are in the Syracuse City School District you can download your form here, otherwise go the Civil Liberties Union homepage to get a generic form.

But you must also write to the Department of Defense in order to have your name taken from the Joint Advertising and Market Research Studies (JAMRS) database. To download a generic, template letter go here (bottom of page).
