The Syracuse Peace Council is Hiring!

Get Paid to Work for Social Justice!

The Syracuse Peace Council is hiring TWO Staff Organizers! SPC is a Syracuse-based grassroots peace and social justice organization that has been in existence since 1936. SPC educates, agitates and organizes for a world where war, violence, and exploitation in any form will no longer exist.

SPC Staff Organizers provide both support and leadership to our program and administrative committees, and facilitate communication with members, supporters, and the general public. Overseen by the SPC Steering Committee, staff organizers have varied responsibilities, including both issue-organizing and administrative work. Specific duties are negotiable, but include supporting our ongoing committees - Nuclear Free World, Beyond War and Militarism, Justice for Palestine, Neighbors Of the Onondaga (NOON), the Plowshares Peace Craft Fair and our coalition work surrounding racial and economic justice. Job expectations include fundraising, event organizing, generating content for the website and e-newsletter, and attending meetings at various times (including evenings).
