For a number of years, Neighbors of the Onondaga Nation and friends from the Onondaga Nation have gathered together on the shore of Onondaga Lake to express thanks forthe goodness of the Earth and to each other for our ongoing friendship, as we work side-by-side in peace and hope for healing, justice and environmental restoration. This event draws more participants every year and is a very moving and inspiring experience. Please join us, dress for the weather, light refreshments.

This year’s circle is particularly poignant given the US Supreme Court’s recent denial to review the lower court’s dismissal of the Onondaga Nation’s Land Rights Action. As Joseph Heath, attorney for the Nation stated, “The struggle for healing and justice will continue; and this is no longer a land rights case–it is a land rights movement. It is time to admit these historic harms; and it is time for justice, time for healing.” NOON will continue to be an important part of that process.
