FIX IT is a film that documents the current healthcare crisis in the United States. Despite recent reforms, Americans remain vulnerable to economic catastrophe with a serious illness or injury—insured and uninsured alike.

“One third of Americans don’t get the health care they need because of cost. Our businesses are under relentless pressure from increasing healthcare costs. The devastating impact ripples through our economy, impacting infrastructure, schools and local governments. This is a problem we can fix if we just follow best practices from around the world.” -Richard Master, Executive Producer Fix It

Film followed by a discussion about the New York Health Act, the bill to provide health care as a human right for all New Yorkers, with:
--Eric Kingson, Professor of Social Work, Syracuse University, Democratic primary candidate for Congress
--Ursula Rozum, Syracuse Peace Council, 2015 Upstate Coordinator for Campaign for NY Health, who will share observations from trip to Cuba to study public health system.
