Home from a world-wide speaking tour, former U.S. diplomat and U.S. Army Colonel turned peace activist Ann Wright will share her international experience resisting war and her reflections on the militarism threatening to engulf us.

Ann Wright

Ann spent 13 years in the U.S. Army and 16 additional years in the Army Reserves, retiring as a Colonel. In 1987, Col. Wright joined the Foreign Service and served as U.S. Deputy Ambassador in multiple countries. In 2003, she was one of only three persons who resigned from the U.S. government in opposition to the Iraq war, an act for which she is highlighted in the “Americans Who Tell the Truth” portrait series. Since then, she has been writing and speaking out for peace via nonviolent direct actions and protests, delegations, Freedom flotillas, and more.
Getting arrested at Hancock Air Force Base in 2010, Ann helped spark Upstate Drone Action’s ongoing nine-year grassroots campaign to expose Reaper drone terrorism.
