The Syracuse Peace Council (SPC) is a comprehensive grassroots peace and social justice organization founded in 1936. SPC educates, agitates and organizes to create a world of peace and justice for all people. Our major projects currently focus on ending the US Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and supporting our neighbors of the Onondaga Nation. Other issues of particular concern are military spending, the war culture, military conscription, nuclear power and weapons, criminal justice, prisons, police abuse, the death penalty, social oppression and ecological preservation.

A major SPC project is our monthly Peace Newsletter (usually 16 pages). SPC's goal of uncompromised and radical social change informs its diverse agenda, allowing each activity to be approached with a commitment to nonviolence and a recognition of the many ways in which violence and military culture invade our lives.
