The Syracuse Peace Council (SPC) is a comprehensive grassroots peace and social justice organization founded in 1936. SPC educates, agitates and organizes to create a world of peace and justice for all people. Our current focus is the "War on Terrorism." Other issues of particular concern are military spending, the war culture, military conscription, nuclear power and weapons, criminal justice, prisons, police abuse, the death penalty, hate groups, gender and gender oppression, racism, and the support of traditional indigenous peoples.

A major SPC project is our monthly 8-24 page Peace Newsletter. SPC's goal of uncompromised and radical social change informs its diverse agenda, allowing each activity to be approached with a commitment to nonviolence, and a recognition of the many ways in which violence and military culture invade our lives.
