x 11 flyer or the two-per-page flyer Sunday, April 25th Come join the movement! Join us as we come from all over upstate New York to protest the use of the drones at our local Air National Guard base. Drones have been known to cause a lot of civilian deaths and village destruction, and we're tired of innocent lives being wasted for suspected "military targets." Join us in our fight! - Please meet at Northern Lights Plaza at the Christmas Tree Shop at 12:30pm, where we will begin to march at 1 pm. If you are unable to march, then please meet at the air base. (See route here). - Picketing and speakers will be from 2- 3 pm in front of Hancock Air National Guard Base. This is a solemn demonstration; please wear dark colors to mourn the victims of drone attacks in Pakistan, Iraq and Afghanistan. - After the march and rally, there will be an organizing meeting and snacks at ArtRage Gallery at 3:30 pm For more information call Carol at 315-472-5478, or e-mail spc@peacecouncil.net --------------------------------- OUR BUS TRIP TO
WASHINGTON D.C: Top row left to right: Kayla Carroll, Christina Liddell, Katherine Raymond, Josiah Houck, Derek Ford bottom row left to right: Jason Demauro, Melissa Warner, Sean Stanyon. Ashley Sauers taking the photo. A bus trip with 47 central New Yorkers aboard joined over two thousand others in Washington D.C. on March 20 to protest US wars and occupations. The weather couldnt have been better as the thousands rallied in front of the White House calling for peace in the Middle East. The thousands then took to the streets with coffins decorated with the flags of Yemen, Palestine, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Somali, Iraq, US and others to represent the coalition forces as well as the civilians who have died in the many conflicts in the world today. They left the coffins all over D.C. as a reminder. All in all the trip was very memorable, and we encourage everyone to get involved to help get the word out about the benefit of peace and justice, jobs and education over death and destruction, debt and occupation. Due to the low income of the students, many needed scholarships, more than the Peace Council had. If you're interested, we would greatly appreciate any donations to help defray the costs of the trip. We have a PayPal account set-up with a direct link found on our web site. Any donation would help and is greatly appreciated . Please contact Katherine or Carol at the Syracuse Peace Council at (315) 472-5478 or intern@peacecouncil.net.
