Justice for Palestine is a community educational and organizing project. We provide grassroots education and generate political pressure needed to re-orient US policy toward a just peace. Coordinated by the Syracuse Peace Council, it includes people active in the local Methodist Task Force for Middle East Peace, the Islamic Society of Central New York, Al Huda Muslim American Society Mosque and Syracuse Jews for Peace.

At a time when Congress is increasing military aid to Israel to the tune of $3.8 billion annually and the Trump administration is supporting the expansion of illegal settlements, human rights activists MUST use all the tactics at our disposal to organize and build a movement for justice.


Two decades ago, the international boycott of firms that supported the apartheid South African regime played an important role in overturning that racist regime. It's time to do it again as part of our efforts to end the Israeli occupation of Palestine.

Human rights activists are under attack in Israel/Palestine. On October 21, 2016, Israeli Knesset member David Bitan called for Hagai El-Ad, executive director of the Israeli human rights organization B’Tselem, to have his citizenship revoked after his testimony before the United Nations Security Council criticizing the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land. In March, 2016 Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon accused Breaking the Silence, an Israeli veteran’s organization that collects and publishes testimony from Israeli soldiers, of treason.

A community commemoration of the Nakba. Nakba means “Catastrophe” in Arabic. It refers to the destruction of Palestinian society in 1948 when approximately 750,000 Palestinians fled or were forced into exile by Israeli troops. Today, there are more than 4 million registered Palestinian refugees worldwide. Israel refuded to allow Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and to pay them compensation, as required by UN Resolution 194 of 1948.

Ahmed Hmeedat, human rights lawyer, artist and art coordina­tor of the Nakba Museum Project, will reflect on his experience growing up in a refugee camp. The Building Company Theater will perform Walls-Transition Position, a physical theater work exploring the stress fractures that result from holding an unsustainable position, or from forc­ing a rapid transition. The piece is based on the observations of a young woman during her visit to the West Bank in June, 2013.
