Greetings Brother:
This is an open letter to you and the American people. The Onondaga Nation on behalf of the people of the Haudenosaunee send our condolences, prayers and support to the families and friends of the innocent victims of this ruthless attack on the peoples of America.
We honor and condole the families and friends of the courageous fire fighters and police killed and injured in service above and beyond the line of duty.
We are reminded that our Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) men helped to build those Twin Towers and the Pentagon.
Brother:
It is with great dismay that we witness this assault against world peace. This heinous strike engages attrition to deter peaceful resolutions to the great crisises and conflicts that face humanity today.
World leaders must be resolute and resourceful against the zealot's provocations. Reason must balance reaction. Peace is dynamic and requires perseverance, compassion and a visionary committment to future generations.
Brother:
In the spirit of the Covenant Chain of Friendship between our two peoples our leaders offer you and your fellow leaders our hand to stand with you in compassion and sympathy in this great tragedy that effect us all and may change the course of history.
Dawnnaytoh,
Chief Sidney Hill
