Over 300 people participated in the community poll conducted with the Syracuse New Times to select the final songs for the CD.

The response was so overwhelming and the voting so close, that we added six, rather than four songs. Below is the final list of songs.

We expect to release details for the CD release party in the spring very soon!

Music has been at the center of social movements around the world and has the power to educate, inspire and unify. The Syracuse Peace Council asked Central New Yorkers to tap into this power by submitting songs related to peace and social justice to be considered for a place on a CD entitled PeaceSongsCNY.

The Syracuse Peace Council, the oldest, local, independent peace and social justice organization in the United States is celebrating its 75th anniversary throughout 2011.
