Update

Significant progress has been made to lay the organizational groundwork for the new Center. The application for tax exempt status will be submitted to the IRS in the coming weeks. A Center delegate attended a national conference of the Nonprofit Centers Network to learn from the experience of others working on similar projects.

The Center Board is seeking help from others who wish to support this ambitious endeavor. New board members are being sought, as well as people to work on committees for the capital campaign, green building and renovations work, and finances. A job description is being circulated for a part-time building manager position (6-10 hours/week).

Meetings among the planned tenants in the building - American Friends Service Committee, Citizens Awareness Network, Peace Action and the Syracuse Peace Council are planned for June.
