Onondaga Lake
The Haudenosaunee Confederacy was formed on the shores of Onondaga Lake hundreds of years ago. The lake continues to play a central role in the spiritual life of the Onondaga Nation. The lake which lies just north of the city of Syracuse is one of the most chemically-polluted lakes in the world.
